[music |Gorillaz - Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head]

Once upon a time at the foot of a great mountain, there was a town where the people known as Happyfolk lived, their very existence a mystery to the rest of the world, obscured as it was by great clouds. Here they played out their peaceful lives, innocent of the litany of excess and violence that was growing in the world below. To live in harmony with the spirit of the mountain called Monkey was enough. Then one day, Strangefolk arrived in the town. They came in camouflage, hidden behind dark glasses, but no one noticed them: they only saw shadows. You see, without the Truth of the Eyes, the Happyfolk were blind.

In time, Strangefolk found their way into the high reaches of the mountain, and it was there that they found the caves of unimaginable Sincerity and Beauty. By chance, they stumbled upon the Place Where All Good Souls Come to Rest. The Strangefolk, they coveted the jewels in these caves above all things, and soon they began to mine the mountain, its rich seam fueling the chaos of their own world. Meanwhile, down in the town, the Happyfolk slept restlessly, their dreams invaded by shadowy figures digging away at their souls. Every day, people would wake and stare at the mountain. Why was it bringing darkness into their lives?

And as the Strangefolk mined deeper and deeper into the mountain, holes began to appear, bringing with them a cold and bitter wind that chilled the very soul of them up. For the first time, the Happyfolk felt fearful for they knew that soon the Monkey would soon stir from its deep sleep. And then came a sound. Distant first, it grew into castrophany so immense it could be heard far away in space.

There were no screams. There was no time.
The mountain called Monkey had spoken.
There was only fire.
And then, nothing.

Welcome, October. Let's party.

[music |Star Wars - Hunt for Grievous Game]

April Fool's day was fun. Syke! No, Sin City did not suck at all. Yes, I totally liked it. But if was fun fooling you guys!

Tonight after work, me, Lorenzo and Jeremy went to Wal-Mart's midnight opening of Star Wars: Episode 3 action figures! It was so cool. We were like, third in line out of forty since we got there at about 11. They even had Stormtroopers and Boba-Fett in costume for pictures! (reminded me of Dragoncon) Anyways, I picked up:

-General Grievous Action Figure
-Grievous Bodyguard Action Figure
-Darth Vader Action Figure
-General Grievous UNLEASAHED Action Figure
-Lego Star Wars Clone Walker

Pictures of them here! )

As you can tell, I think Grievous is totally awesome. How badass is that UNLEASHED one!? They had two of his 12-inch figures, but some jackass picked them BOTH up, right in front of me! I'm going to try and get all of the Grievous figures... I also wanted the Lego Star Wars ARC-170 Fighter, but it was like 40 bucks! I'll get it some other time...

By the way, I was playing the Star Wars: Hunt for Grievous game and I got a free Ipod Tune download, does anyone want it? I don't have an Ipod, so I can't do anything with it. =\

"You're gonna love this, baby." [Apr. 1st, 2005|02:36 am]
[mood | disappointed]

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Sin City! Everybody's going nuts over Sin City! But... why? It should have been called "Suck City" or "Boring Town"! This movie blew more chunks than I can count. How the fuck does some guy take 10 bullets to the chest and not die? Bullshit. He does it all for some rich slut, too. And so! MUCH! TALKING! I almost fell asleep in my seat a few times! I mean, all that gore and stuff was cool, but how many times can a plot revolve around 'save the hooker?' Good cop, bad coop, sleep with a hooker, kill a hooker... it was a bad Grand Theft Auto in black and white! I hope none of you go out this weekend and waste your money on this horrible excuse for a film. Two hours of my life, down the drain. Go see something worth seeing, like watching grass grow or a hobo eating his own crap. Anything would be better than this!

Anyways, [info]njoryo pointed out to me that Lego Star Wars (The Video Game) already came out this past week. How could I miss that? You can be ANY. CHARACTER. from the first three movies. Yup, anyone. I'm sure that's no big deal to some of you, but I've loved Legos and Star Wars as far back as I can remember...

Wrestlemania 21 this Sunday! We're still going to the Winghouse, right [info]makiotwist, [info]berserkershinji, and [info]jedi_mario? I need to give my shift away first. Shit!

Happy 25th Birthday to my good friend, Kendall Moore([info]makiotwist)! I don't care if I do waste space on my journal for it, you DESERVE it! Hats off to you, my friend. All the giving people rides, throwing awesome parties, and just plain being you, it was always a blast. I wasted my whole summer of 2003 at your apartment with [info]berserkershinji and [info]jedi_mario! And those were memories we'll never forget. =]

Image hosted by Photobucket.comWhat a GREAT day!

Well first off, as every has probably already seen, the Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith trailer was played during The OC. I was at work and unable to catch it, but I then found out that we were going to show at the screening tonight of Robots.

I was so excited, I closed Concession as fast as possible... and missed it. I walked into the theater and Robots was already playing! Uuuuugggh. So I sat down, watched the movie. It was okay, funny here and there, like I expected. It also had a Star Wars reference, which was kinda cool. But man I wanted to see that trailer! Good thing I taped The OC! And [info]njoryo sent me a high-quality version. Thanks again! =D But yeah, in cased you missed the trailer and you do go see Robots this weekend, you'll see it on the big screen. The Lego Star Wars game website also got an update, with a link to a PC demo!

And in other news, Nintendo DS is going online! I can't explain how awesome that's going to be. Animal Crossing multiplayer AROUND THE WORLD! Also, a new Legend of Zelda trailer was also released!

I picked up Knights of the Old Republic yesterday, and it rocks. It's a little slow going at first, but I can't wait to trick out my Lightsaber and take out Sith's. ZING!

"When you die, all you want to do is come back." [Mar. 4th, 2005|01:39 am]

Saw The Jacket after work tonight. Hey [info]njoryo, guess what? No body double. She's naked!

It was pretty good in my opinion, even though the beginning was a bit confusing. A lot like The Butterfly Effect, except a little weirder. The ending was totally weak, I hope there's an alternate one on the DVD. Oh, and Whistler from Blade was in it! Be Cool and The Pacifier also came out, but this one looked the most 'original'.

Last week's episode of The OC was undoubtedly, the best one ever. Seth with the Spider-man mask... too freakin' cool. Tonight's was a re-run, but next week looks cool. (in a Dawn of the Dead kinda way)

[mood | cheerful]

First off, does anyone else think that this movie poster looks like Keanu Reeves is taking a leak and demons are coming out of it? No? It's just me?

Got to screen Constantine tonight, and it was fantastic! It was like a mix of The Matrix and Dogma. Keanu Reeve's acting was exactly the same woodpecker-on-the-head style you'd expect, especially in a certain scene where he speaks to Gabriel. Also, he smokes a lot. Like, A LOT. Five minutes do not go by without him taking out his 'bad-ass' lighter and torching up another cigarette. I was starting to worry it would be just a giant Truth commercial.

Oh, and make sure to stay until after the credits! (you want the whole experience, don't you!)

Yesterday I finallly got my new computer! It's so awesome, I can't wait to jump onto the PC Games Bandwagon. But I guess I already kinda did since I got World of Warcraft.

Also, [info]goin_2_hell has been updated with a new comic! Go check it out, and join the community! =]

"I AM AN ATHLETE!" [Feb. 4th, 2005|02:19 am]
[mood | nostalgic]

I saw Boogeyman tonight, after work. Bloody-Disgusting wasn't a big fan of it, but the part about way too many 'loud noises' used to scare the audience are true. You could totally tell when a scary part was coming when it was dark, the music stopped, and the movie turned silent. Then BAM! Scary moment #463. Kinda lame. It also doesn't have any death scenes what-so-ever, and it's rated PG-13 for all the teeny-boppers.

But, in retrospect, the Boogeyman himself was kinda creepy looking. The camera effects and sounds were very cool, too. Next time though, if you don't want to get scared when you're 8 years old, don't put a bunch of creepy shit in your room!

I beat Star Fox Assault last night, after only playing for two days. Yeah, it's hella short! Only 10 levels! I wish they would have just kept Fox in his Arwing, though. The tank is cool, but the ground missions are booo-ring. You just run around and destroy a hatcher/force-field generator, and then do it again on the next ground-mission. They do mix it up, sometimes. The classic shooting levels are pure bliss, though.

The storyline is kinda wonky, but it works. For a game that's filled with furry animals flying space ships, there sure is a lot of death. If you remember Star Wolf from the previous games, they have a much bigger part in this game. The best part has to be the awesome music. It's just amazingly good! I also want to give the multi-player a shot, since you can have a ground/tank/air battle at the same time. I would like to play as Star Wolf, though...

250 bucks for a PSP!? Well, it does come with Spider-man 2 in UMD format for free. Maybe...

I'm such a dork.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I joined that whole 'free iPod' shin-dig(and yes, it really does work), so if you want to join, use my referal link- (http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=14715347)

"I was 27 years old the first time I died." [Jan. 28th, 2005|05:08 am]
[mood | sleepy]

I saw Alone in the Dark after work tonight, with a few other people. This movie should be called Alone in the Theater, because that is what will happen. Director Uwe Boll never ceases to amaze me as to how a movie can suck so, so badly. It just shouldn't be possible. Remember those bad CG gun effects from House of the Dead? They're back, as well as the super-pumped rock music to drown down the action scene.

Uwe Boll is also directing the Bloodrayne movie later this year, which [info]chico_chan is totally nuts about. I'm looking forward to it... but since he's directing it, I'm expecting total suckage. He's also got the rights to few other video game franchises, such as Hitman. I'd like to put a hit out on him.

On the plus side, the trailers were all Lions Gate Films movies, such as Cursed, High Tension, and my new favorite, The Jacket. Keira Knightley, oh yeah! ;D

"I want to break free." [Jan. 16th, 2005|06:08 am]
[mood | sleepy]

Resident Evil 4 has been keeping me awake beyond good measure. I should go to sleep. Right now. I should be in bed. Sleeping. But instead, I'm going deeper into some God-forsaken castle, fighting a bunch of jacked-up tentacle dogs straight from The Thing.

Speaking of 'The Thing', the Fantastic Four trailer is being shown before Elektra, which is playing in movie theaters now. The trailer, ironically, is fantastic! As for Elektra itself... well, you know those people that say "I paid just to see the preview of (some movie), and then I left!"? This is the movie they're talking about. The reason I really didn't like it was mainly because of the lame-ass death scenes for the villains. They were just very boring... as was half of the movie. The whole movie was about "My mothers dead, that's not funny!". I'm not a big Elektra fan anyways, so I'm a bit biased.

Also during the previews, you can catch a trailer for another upcoming comic-to-movie adaption: Sin City. [info]jasontd knows all about that. I really want to read the comics now!

(We're just playin' Matt! =P)

Tonight I saw The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou at AMC after work. It was a very strange movie, with moments of brief humour. It was totally unlike any other movie I've ever seen. Sometimes I was just baffled as to 'why'd they do that..?' or just left wondering if I missed a joke somewhere. I kinda liked the music, though. Very catchy. And the ending caught me off-guard. I'd reccomend it if you wanna see something different.

Speaking of work, it's really picked up for the holidays. I hear Christmas day is the busiest day of the year... good thing I'm not working on that day! I also requested off New Year's Eve for [info]jedi_mario's New Year Bash. I love those parties man!

EDIT: Oh, and since it's past midnight, Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! =D

The rest of the games I played during November. My favorites were Metal Gear, Budokai 3, and Feel the Magic. Goldeneye sucked balls, it was so half-assed. And to think how hyped [info]jedi_mario was about it...

Watched the Amazing Race at [info]berserkershinji and [info]hella_tight's house yesterday. My team got first place! Woo! During the race, my and [info]jasontd whipped out our Nintendo DS's and Pictochatted like madmen. Man that's fun! XD After that, we watched Spiderman 2, which is a great film. I plan to watch all the extras sometime soon.

Christmas tree and a pair of gold teeeeeth... )
